BERMUDA DCA ARTICLE 85
The Path to IS-BAO Compliance
Owners and operators with Bermuda registered aircraft are required to comply with or demonstrate a compliance plan for Bermuda DCA’s approval under Article 85 of the Air Navigation (Overseas Territories) Order 2007. Bermuda DCA have advised that the IS-BAO standard is the preferred means of compliance. The compliance date is November 1st 2009 and because the assessment, implementation and filing procedure can "vary between 3 months to a year"*, the time to take action is now.

ACASS offers support to Owners and Operators in immediate need of complying with IS-BAO/Article 85 guidelines through one of two options:
OPTION 1
Comply with IS-BAO, Fly Under ACASS Operation
ACASS offers turnkey Flight Operations support services to business aircraft Owners and Operators which ensure IS-BAO compliance without the requirement to file for their own independent registration.
This transitional service is designed to bring an organization up to the standards of IS-BAO with a minimal amount of disruption and cost.
Integrating an aircraft into ACASS Flight Operations while complying with IS-BAO entails the following:
- The aircraft will be operated within the limitations and procedures laid out in the ACASS Private Operations Manual (POM), the Safety Management System Manual (SMS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Checklists and Operational Directives.
- The operational staff will meet ACASS & IS-BAO training standards.
- The aircraft operation will be supported by a maintenance oversight program under the strict guidelines of ACASS' PRM (person responsible for maintenance).
OPTION 2
Assisting Owners & Operators in Obtaining
their own IS-BAO Certification
ACASS, as an IS-BAO registered organization with a wealth of experience operating business aircraft worldwide, offers consultation services throughout the IS-BAO process.
Our specialists will assist you by conducting a gap analysis with the standards of IS-BAO as the benchmark. Any differences identified during this analysis are then accompanied with recommended solutions to be implemented in order to successfully complete the independent IS-BAO audit.
ACASS will support you throughout the process of preparing for the audit and filing the request for IS-BAO registration. Our goal is to provide an efficient and successful outcome.
